The Retirement KITAP is a 5-year visa that allows foreigners to live in Indonesia and enjoy their retirement in one of the greatest countries in the world with relative ease.
This is suitable for foreign retirees who have held a Retirement KITAS for a minimum of four years. This document remains valid for five years and offers a lifetime extension option. If you intend to travel internationally and return to Indonesia after two years, be sure to obtain a Multiple Re-entry Permit (MERP) to avoid potential difficulties and delays at Indonesian immigration upon your return.
The Retirement KITAP is valid for 5 years and is extendable.
As Southeast Asia’s largest economy continues to open its doors to foreign residents, Indonesia offers multiple long-term visa options for retirees and expatriates seeking to settle in the archipelago. From flexible temporary permits to permanent stay visas, these visa categories provide a legal pathway to retirement, work, and family reunification — supporting Indonesia’s vision to become a global destination for talent, investment, and lifestyle migration.
For retirees aged 55+, this renewable one-year stay permit allows foreign nationals to reside in Indonesia without engaging in work-related activities.
A five-year permanent stay permit available for those who have held a Retirement KITAS continuously for at least four years.
