NPWP (Nomor Pokok Wajib Pajak)

- Mandatory for: Individuals earning income above the regional minimum wage.
- How to Obtain:Apply once income exceeds the Tax-Exempt Income Threshold for a particular month
- Validity: Lifetime
- Benefits: Grants access to a range of tax benefit programs. Requirement for credit application to the bank and obtaining a Trade Business Licence (SIUP).
- Additional Information: Mandatory for individuals earning above a certain income threshold.
EFIN (Elektronik Filing Identifikasi Nomor)
- Frequency: Unique identification number for electronic tax report submissions.
- Deadline: Accesses the online tax service system for submitting annual tax returns (SPT Tahunan). Also used to create billing codes for online tax payments.
- Scope of Taxes: Registered taxpayers who conduct electronic tax transactions.
- Scope of Taxes: Can be obtained by submitting an application to the nearest Tax Office (KPP). The DJP also offers an online service for creating EFIN.
- Validity: Lifetime
- Benefits: Saves time, money, and effort and reduces the risk of errors.
- Additional Information: Must be activated within 30 days upon receiving
What is an e-FIN?
An EFIN (Electronic Filing Identification Number) is a unique identifier provided by the DGT (Directorate General of Taxes) for taxpayers using their online services. One transaction involves e-filing SPT reports and paying taxes using billing codes. The EFIN code serves as a unique identifier for all taxpayers engaging in electronic transactions.
Personal Tax
Individual taxpayers requiring online tax reporting access are issued a Personal Tax EFIN. This is typically used by employees, freelancers, and other individuals with tax obligations.
Corporate Tax
The Corporate Tax EFIN is assigned to taxable business and legal entities. This facilitates the electronic filing of tax returns for businesses, including Corporate Income Tax (PPh) and other taxes pertinent to business activities.

Who Needs to Pay Tax in Indonesia?

When can I use my EFIN?
Upon receiving your EFIN, you can already use it to log in to your DJP account. Keep in mind you must activate it within 30 days.
What if I forget my EFIN ID?
If you ever forgot your EFIN ID, the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) provides several convenient ways for taxpayers to recover their forgotten EFIN.
