Frequently Asked Questions

Can I extend the Short-Term Tourist Visa?

Yes, travellers holding a Short-Term Single-Entry Tourist Visa for the UAE may request an extension. This visa is typically valid for 30 days from the date of entry, with the possibility to extend for an additional 30 days or 60 days from the date of the original entry, depending on the discretion of UAE immigration.

To initiate an extension, applicants can consult the UAE Embassy in Jakarta or check the most recent UAE visa information provided through authorized channels or via licensed visa consultants such as LMI Consultancy. Please note that overstay penalties apply if the extension is not secured before visa expiry.

Can I convert my 48 hour or 96 hour Transit Visa to the Short-Term Single-Entry Visa?

No, 48 hour and 96 hour Transit Visas for the UAE are not convertible to a Short-Term Single-Entry Visa. These transit visas are strictly for brief layovers and are only issued to travellers with valid onward bookings, a confirmed hotel stay, and a valid visa and passport.

If you intend to stay longer, you must exit the UAE and need to apply for another valid visa appropriate for tourism or business purposes. Note that your passport must be valid for at least six months, and travellers from select countries may be eligible for a Visa on Arrival, depending on nationality and travel history.

Can I convert the Single-Entry Visa to a Multiple-Entry Visa for the UAE?

In general, a Single Entry Visa cannot be converted into a Multiple-Entry Visa once issued. Each visa type is approved based on its original application and intended use. To obtain a Multiple-Entry Visa, travellers must submit a new application with updated requirements and approval from the UAE authorities.

For further assistance, applicants are encouraged to contact the UAE Embassy or work with registered agencies like LMI Consultancy to ensure the visa is valid and appropriate for intended use.

Do I need a sponsor to apply for a UAE Visa?

Yes, for certain visa types, such as long-term stay, work, or residence visas, a sponsor—either an individual, employer, or hotel—is required. For most tourist visas, travel agencies or airlines can act as sponsors.

Applicants must provide a copy of your passport valid for at least six months and supporting documents depending on the visa category. The sponsor is responsible for ensuring your compliance with visa terms during your stay.

Are there other visa types to the UAE with multiple entries or longer stays?

Yes, travellers can apply for UAE visas that allow for multiple entries or longer stays, such as the 90 day visit visa, multiple-entry tourist visas, or business entry visas. These visas are often valid for 60 days from the date of issue and allow stays of several months from the date of entry.

Applications can be submitted online or through authorised agencies and typically take a few working days for approval, depending on the type and processing location, whether Abu Dhabi, Dubai, or other Emirates.

For personalised guidance and fast processing, LMI Consultancy can help identify the most suitable visa option based on your travel needs and ensure all requirements are met efficiently.
