Frequently Asked Questions

What is the processing time for a Hungary Schengen Visa, and how long can I stay in Hungary?

The processing time for a Hungary Schengen Visa is typically 15 calendar days from the date your application is submitted to the Embassy or visa application centre. However, in peak seasons or under exceptional circumstances, it may take longer. Once approved, the Schengen visa allows you to stay in Hungary and other Schengen countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period.

What documents are required to apply for a Schengen Visa for Indonesians, and is there any Visa Facilitation Agreement?

To apply for a Schengen Visa, Indonesian applicants must prepare several documents required, including:

  • A valid passport
  • Completed visa application form
  • Recent photos
  • Proof of accommodation and financial means
  • Flight itinerary
  • Travel insurance

Indonesia is part of countries that benefit from a Visa Facilitation Agreement with the EU, which may simplify documentation and reduce the visa fee in some cases. Since Greece and Hungary are part of the Schengen states, this visa grants access to multiple European countries within the Schengen Area.

Is travel insurance required for the Schengen area, and how much is the visa fee?

Yes, travel insurance is mandatory for visiting the Schengen area. It must provide minimum medical coverage of EUR 30,000, be valid throughout all Schengen countries, and cover the entire duration of your stay. As of 2025, the visa fee for Indonesian applicants is approximately EUR 80, in line with other European Union visa rules. This fee is payable at the time of application submission.

Where can the applicant find the Hungary visa application form online, and how is the process handled?

The Hungary visa application form can be accessed online through the official embassy website or via the designated visa application centre. The applicant must complete the form, print it, and submit it along with supporting documents in person. This applies to those applying for a short-term Schengen Visa, which allows for tourism, business, or family visits within the Schengen Area for up to 90 days.
