A passport directly links to a stay permit in Indonesia (KITAS/KITAP). Getting a new passport automatically invalidates your old one, which can possibly cause a discrepancy between your old immigration records and your actual passport.
To avoid any legal issues regarding your immigration record in Indonesia, a Mutasi Paspor or Passport Mutation is required to ensure that your immigration status remains valid and uninterrupted.
Essential Points of Change for Passport Mutation in Indonesia
- Old Passport Number: Must be updated to the new passport number
- Personal Information: Ensure that names, date of birth, and nationality match the new passport. Any discrepancies need to be addressed
- Immigration Records: Update immigration records linked to the old passport (e.g., KITAS/KITAP) to reflect the new passport details
- Validity Dates: Check and ensure that validity dates of the new passport align with visa and immigration requirements
- Photograph: Ensure that the photograph in the new passport meets current standards; if changing, follow re-issue procedures
- Signature: Update signature if it has changed; it should match across all documents
- Address Changes: Report any changes in address if applicable, as this may affect residency status

- Original application letter of Passport Mutation (company letterhead) – draft provided
- Original Letter of Authorisation (Surat Kuasa) for Passport Mutation – draft provided
- Colour copy of ID card (KTP) of the company sponsor’s PIC/Director (who signs the application letter)
- Original passport (Previous Passport and New Passport)
- Original ITAS Online
- Original HPK or RPTKA (if any)
- Original Pengesahan RPTKA or IMTA (if any)
- Colour copy of DPKK funds payment proof (if any)
- Colour copy of MERP
- Colour copy of SKTT
- Other documents if required
