Exit Re-Entry Permit (ERP)

The Exit Re-Entry Permit (ERP) is a critical immigration document for foreigners holding temporary stay permits (KITAS) or permanent residency (KITAP) in Indonesia.Â
It allows individuals to leave Indonesia temporarily and return within a specified period.
Foreigners with valid KITAS/ITAP planning to return after a short trip abroad must secure an ERP
Exit Re-Entry Permit (ERP)
- Allows holders to re-enter Indonesia
- Used for the KITAS/KITAP cancellation process
- Not applicable; must apply for a new ERP if needed
- For foreigners wishing to leave Indonesia permanently
Multiple Exit Re-Entry Permit (MERP)
- Specifically for KITAS holders to exit and re-enter Indonesia
- Valid for multiple entries over a period of up to 2 years
- Requires application at immigration while in Indonesia
- Can be renewed or extended for additional periods (6- 12 months for KITAS, up to 2 years for KITAP)
- Specifically for KITAS holders with valid stay permits
Document Requirements
- Original application letter (company letterhead)
- Original Letter of Authorization (Surat Kuasa)
- Color copy of ID card (KTP) of the company sponsor’s PIC/Director (who signs the application letter)
- Original ITAS Online
- Original HPK or RPTKA
- Original Pengesahan RPTKA or IMTA
- Original DPKK funds payment proof
- Color copy Passport and MERP
- Color copy SKTT
- Lates Exit Stamps from Indonesian territory
- Color copy of flight ticket from last departure
- Other documents if required
*We would advise not leaving this requirement to the very last minute as the process takes approximately 3 – 5 working days. Once stamped you will have to leave the country within 5 days

When Should You Apply for an ERP?
You should apply for an ERP in the following situations:
- If you have left Indonesia and plan to return.
- If you change jobs but have returned to your home country.
- If you intend to change your type of residence permit, such as switching from a work KITAS to a spousal KITAS
How Long Does an ERP Last?
An ERP’s validity period differs based on the applicant’s visa and personal circumstances. The permit’s validity can last anywhere from 30 days to a year, with some permitting multiple entries and exits.
