Exit Re-Entry Permit (ERP)

The Exit Re-Entry Permit (ERP) is a critical immigration document for foreigners holding temporary stay permits (KITAS) or permanent residency (KITAP) in Indonesia.

It allows individuals to leave Indonesia temporarily and return within a specified period.

Foreigners with valid KITAS/ITAP planning to return after a short trip abroad must secure an ERP

You should apply for an ERP in the following situations:

  • If you have left Indonesia and plan to return.
  • If you change jobs but have returned to your home country.
  • If you intend to change your type of residence permit, such as switching from a work KITAS to a spousal KITAS

An ERP’s validity period differs based on the applicant’s visa and personal circumstances. The permit’s validity can last anywhere from 30 days to a year, with some permitting multiple entries and exits.
