With an existing KITAS/KITAP and a job offer in Indonesia, you can explore obtaining a Work Permit Only as an alternative to a Working KITAS/KITAP.
Unlike a visa, a Work Permit solely authorises employment and can be obtained in conjunction with a pre-existing visa such as a Spouse KITAS. This permit lets you keep your sponsor while also working.

Work Visa

- Requires a valid work permit in most cases.
- Governs the legal stay of the worker in the country.
- Based on valid work permit and visa application requirements.
- Matches the duration allowed for legal stay and work.
- May require exit and re-entry or visa extension application.
- Indonesia’s KITAS (Limited Stay Permit for workers).
- Ensures compliance with immigration and residency laws.
Work Permit Validity
- Temporary Employment: Maximum validity of six months, non-renewable
- Employment Exceeding Six Months: Maximum validity of two years, renewable.
- Non-DKPP: Maximum validity of two years, renewable.
- Board of Directors/Commissioners: Valid for the duration of the foreign national's appointment.
Document Requirements
- Passport with at least four blank pages and 18 months of validity remaining
- Recent colour passport sized photograph of the expatriate on a red background
- Proof of complete vaccination course.
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Educational certificate
- Letter of reference from previous employer.
- Expatriate's full address (with proof of address/domicile letter).
- Proof of valid health insurance.
- Copy of current KITAS/KITAP.
- Copy of the KITAS/KITAP stamp.
- Scanned copy of the sponsor's national identity card (KTP).
- Scanned copy of the sponsor's family card (KK).

Do I need to pay DPKK funds if I get a Work Permit Only?
Yes, you do. Indonesian workers are required to contribute a mandatory $100 monthly DPKK fund for the duration of their work permit.
What's the validity period for a Work Permit Only?
Depending on your contract, it could take up to twelve months.
Will this allow me entry and exit from Indonesia?
This is not a visa, but rather authorisation to work and earn. You must still adhere to the terms and conditions of your visa.
