Indonesia Diaspora Visa KITAS E32

The Diaspora KITAS (Repatriation Visa) is a temporary visa for ex-WNI or former Indonesian citizens who have lost their citizenship to become citizens of another country.  

This stay permit has a primary purpose to begin the process of regaining Indonesian citizenship. After entering Indonesia with a 1-year KITAS, they can renew it or apply for a KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit).

Visa Validity

The validity of the Indonesia visa for repatriation is 1 year and is extendable annually for a maximum of 6 years. 

Indonesia Visa for Foreigners to Start a Company in Indonesia

Indonesia offers streamlined visa pathways for foreign nationals looking to establish a business under a PT PMA (foreign-owned company). With investor-focused residency options, entrepreneurs can gain long-term stay rights while actively managing their investment in the local market. 

Investor KITAS

The Investor KITAS is a temporary stay permit designed for foreign shareholders in an Indonesian PT PMA. It provides the right to reside and manage operations without a separate work permit (IMTA), accelerating the setup and compliance process for active investors. Minimum capital thresholds apply. 

Investor KITAP

The Investor KITAP is a permanent stay permit granted to long-term foreign investors who have held an Investor KITAS for at least two consecutive years. It offers five-year renewable residency, allowing greater mobility, fewer reporting requirements, and long-term security for strategic investors in Indonesia.

Can I own Indonesia property under this Visa?

While foreigners generally cannot own land, certain long-term visa holders may access leasehold or usage rights (Hak Pakai) for residential property through legal channels. 

Yes, provided the visa aligns with an investor or business classification, holders may engage in commercial activities through a registered PT PMA or equivalent business entity. 

Yes, you can apply work permit without changing the status of the KITAS. 

Yes, you may obtain visas for dependents to stay in Indonesia, such as husband, wife or children up to 18 years old with Spouse or Dependent KITAS. 

Holders of long-term stay permits (KITAS/KITAP) may apply for a foreigner’s Indonesian ID card (e-KTP Orang Asing), subject to approval from local authorities. 

Yes, you can gain your Indonesian citizenship after obtaining KITAP.
