The Indonesia Second Home Visa program, or commonly known as a Digital Nomad Visa, offers a new long-term visa, enabling foreigners to stay in Indonesia for a period of up to five years.
This visa allows people to stay in the country for non-work reasons, such as investment, tourism, or retirement.
What You Can Do with Second Home Visa Indonesia
- Second home visa holder can live in Indonesia for an extended period (up to 10 years).
- Own and lease property (in accordance with local regulations).
- Open bank accounts and access financial services in Indonesia.
- Enjoy multiple entries and exits from Indonesia during the visa validity.
- Enroll in non-formal education programs or cultural activities.
- Live in a peaceful and secure environment as a retiree or high-net-worth individual.
What You Cannot Do with Second Home Visa Indonesia
- Engage in any form of local employment or work without the proper permits.
- Sponsor other individuals for visas (e.g., dependants or employees).
- Participate in political activities or demonstrations.
- Start or operate a business without additional business permits or licenses.
- Access public healthcare as a subsidized local resident.
- Obtain permanent residency or citizenship directly through this visa.
Second Home Visa Validity
The Second Home stay permit allows a stay in Indonesia for 5 years, and can be upgraded up to 10 years.

Individual Application for Second Home Visa
To be eligible for Indonesia’s Second Home Visa, applicants must meet the following criteria prior to approval:
- Application letter
- A valid original passport with a minimum validity of 6 (six) months;
- A recent colour passport-sized photograph (4 cm x 6 cm) with a white background;
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).

The visa application is only considered valid if submitted by the foreign national or their guarantor to a designated immigration officer at the Directorate General of Immigration.
Special Requirements
- A formal statement of commitment to deposit funds of no less than USD 130,000 (or equivalent) in a state-owned Indonesian bank account under the applicant’s name; or
- A formal statement of commitment to purchase property in Indonesia, such as an apartment or condominium, valued at no less than USD 1,000,000 (or equivalent).
Second Home Visa for Dependants
The Second Home Visa scheme permits foreign nationals and former Indonesian citizens to bring eligible family members as accompanying visa holders. Each family member must individually apply for a dependant Second Home Visa.
- A marriage certificate or marriage book for spouses;
- A birth certificate or family register indicating a parent-child relationship, translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator (except for documents issued in English).
