The Silver Hair Visa is a recently introduced Indonesian Immigration visa that caters to tourists of retirement age who desire live in Indonesia to retire.
This visa is one of the type of visas which allows foreign retirees aged 60 years or older to enter Indonesia and stay for up to 5 years, either through individual or corporate investment.
Important: To be eligible for a Silver Hair Visa, applicants must maintain a deposit in a state-owned bank account as per stated on the Visa Requirements.
What Foreigners Can Do
- Rent or lease property in Indonesia for personal use.
- Access local healthcare and facilities, depending on visa benefits.
- Enjoy multiple entries into Indonesia during the visa’s validity.
- Open an Indonesian bank account to manage personal finances.
- Sponsor family and spouse through Dependent KITAS
What Foreigners Cannot Do
- Engage in formal employment or work for an Indonesian company.
- Run or operate a business in Indonesia without Registering a legal Indonesia Business License.
- Own land or property outright (foreign ownership restrictions apply).
- Participate in political activities.
- Claim rights or benefits reserved for Indonesian citizens (e.g., voting).
Silver Hair Visa Validity
Silver Hair Visa is valid for five years and is eligible for visa extension. Please note that the Silver Hair Visa Indonesia must be activated within 90 days of issuance.

Retirement Visa KITAS E33F
For foreigners who want to stay in Indonesia long term during their retirement, the KITAS E33F or commonly known as the Retirement KITAS, offers a renewable temporary stay permit. This is one of the popular visa options as an alternative to the Silver Hair KITAS, allowing retirees to enjoy life in Indonesia for a year without engaging in work-related activities. Personage (E33 C/D)

Second Home (E33)
Tailored for wealthy foreign nationals seeking to reside outside their country of origin, this visa enables a long-term stay in Indonesia without the need to engage in employment or local income generation. It supports individuals looking to retire or maintain a second residence under Indonesia’s strategic relocation initiative.
Ex-Indonesian (E32 A/B)
Issued to former Indonesian citizens and their descendants, this visa allows returnees to reconnect under the legal framework of current laws and regulations. It supports reintegration by providing residency rights, reflecting Indonesia’s commitment to diaspora engagement.
Investment Visa (E28 B/C/D)
Targeted at entrepreneurs and foreign investors, this visa allows long-term stay with work visa benefits for individuals involved in business and investing activities. The scheme is part of the Indonesian Government’s commitment to attract sustainable capital and support the ease of doing business in key economic sectors.
Document Requirements:
- Application letter
- Passport valid for at least 12 (twelve) months
- Recent colour
- Curriculum Vitae
- Travel Itinerary
- Statement of commitment that the applicant will deposit funds in an account in his/her own name worth at least US$50,000 (fifty thousand US dollars) in a state-owned bank
- Proof of income or benefits with a minimum value of US$3,000 per month (for the last 3 months)
- Username and Password of Immigration system (Molina)
- Other documents if required
Specific Requirements:
- Proof of immigration guarantee in the form of a signed commitment letter to maintain funds in a personal account with a state-owned bank, with a minimum value of US$50,000 or equivalent (this must be fulfilled within 90 days of the date of issuance of the Limited Stay Permit).
- Proof of income or allowances amounting to US$3,000 per month.
